HTTP 2015 – SHINE

Hi!

In the previous sections, I’ve mentioned most of the FEP activities that I had experienced 🙂

And so, at this very moment, I’m going to share my experiences while joining  the annual event from HIMTI (Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Informatika), the HTTP (HIMTI Togetherness and Top Performance) which is basically a welcoming party for all the SoCS (School of Computer Science) students. (By joining SoCS, were automatically registered as HIMTI member)

To attend the HTTP, We had to pay a ticket for Rp. 150.000 and yes, it’s felt quite expensive at first. However, I also got much benefits such as, introduction to C language, HTTP T-shirt, free transportation , and also free lunch meal. Therefore, the overall cost still worth it 🙂

In the introduction of C language, I was given basic knowledge and foundation of the C language that most likely will often be used during my later study at the Computer Science department.

The HTTP event was held in BPPT II building which is located on M. H. Thamrin Street, Central Jakarta. As for Binusian Alam Sutera students, we were given 2 choices. To go to BPPT either by the free bus shuttle which is provided by HIMTI, or by individual transport at our own cost. For those who choose to go by the bus, they had to arrive at Binus lobby before 6AM, as the first and the only bus shift is at 6 AM. As a result, I had to get up earlier at about 4.40 AM so that hopefully I won’t miss the bus. Disappointingly, in the end the bus went to BPPT at about 6.30 AM.

We arrived at the BPPT building around 7 AM, which is way too early from the actual event schedule, which began at 9 AM. Instead, the committee showed us some movies on the big screen. The first movie was “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” and the second one was “Big Hero 6”.

The event began at 9 AM with some welcoming words by all of the faculty member coordinators, then followed by solo and band performance. Afterward, there’s some visualization performance (more like a drama), dances, talkshow, and closed with performance from a guest artist (Rianti Duke), and DJ performance.

At the end of the event, before we went back home, we were given a goodie bag which include a HIMTI DVD Kit, a T-Shirt, some drinks, and a HIMTI magazine.

In conclusion, the whole event is quite exiciting, other than a problem that makes me really  disappointed. It was happened when we were supposed to head back to Alam Sutera. The actual event was over by 6 PM, but we had to wait for the bus for two hours until 8 PM because of unknown reason and without any certainty of when we could finally head back home. I think the bus schedule should be organised better so the participants could go home on time.

Thanks for reading! stay tuned for the next post!
